Getting On Radio: Your Website

By Debbi Dachinger

Want to be interviewed on the radio? Have an important message to get out? One thing that will go a long way is to have your web site set up correctly with a 'MEDIA' or pull-down tab on your site. Essentially this is your online 'Press Kit'. This includes information that a station, producer or host can quickly easily access and use to determine or support an interview.

Here's a checklist of what you should have in your 'MEDIA' tab:

       A short and long biography
       Press releases, Awards, Accolades, Testiminials
1-3 great downloadable jpg photos of you
5-10 possible interview questions about your topic.
A Video or Audio of your past interviews or appearances for

SUGGESTION: Pick three professionals who are doing well in the same work that you do. Then check out their website's 'Media' page. Take note of what elements in the pages that you like and do not like. Remember don't copy what they have, but use your authentic filter to see how to incorporate the elements you do like in a better way to make your site great.
